Elephants
Sighted on: 09.January.2024
During the evening boat safari, we encountered a herd of elephants that were mud bathing on the river bank. Did you know that elephants gather sand and mud with their trunks and throw them onto their bodies to provide sun protection and repel bugs? Sand helps dry and warm their skin in the cooler months, while mud helps to keep them cool in the hotter months.

Great Cormorant
Sighted on: 12.January.2024
The mornings have been generally foggy or misty due to the low temperatures. These conditions resulted in reduced activity in the mornings. However, once the sun broke through, bird activity would pick up. During the morning boat safari, we spotted a Great Cormorant perched on a dead tree stump, trying to dry its wings in the weak sun.
