Wild Dogs
Sighted on: 05.Nov.2024
A pack of four Wild Dogs was seen walking in the middle of the safari track. Also known as the Dhole or the ‘Whistling Dog,’ as they use a distinctive whistle to communicate with each other. They are the most efficient predators in Kabini. Hunting in packs, they chase down their prey and pull the animal down by the flanks and hindquarters. They do not use a killing bite to the throat; instead, they disembowel their prey, with death usually resulting from shock and blood loss.
